Flanges for data center projects in Pune

Pune is one of India's established data center markets, with STT GDC's campus at Dighi and new projects around Hinjewadi. Its plateau climate is drier and milder than Mumbai's, but the monsoon still shapes the cooling piping.

For data centers in Pune we supply ASME B16.5 Class 150 carbon steel flanges in A105 for chilled water and condenser water, EN 1092-1 PN16 flanges where the plant follows European practice, and 316L stainless flanges, pickled and passivated, for CDUs and technology cooling loops. Every heat comes with an EN 10204 3.1 certificate, and orders go by road from our works in Gujarat.

The Pune data center market

Pune had 133 MW of operational data center capacity in the first half of 2026 and 258 MW of upcoming supply (Cushman & Wakefield).

STT GDC India has a campus at Dighi and has announced two more data centers there, an investment of about INR 2,000 crore (Invest India). In August 2026, NES Data, a subsidiary of TCC Concept, signed a non-binding memorandum to buy land in Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park at Hinjewadi for a campus of up to 60 MW (DCD).

Projects range from enterprise and colocation halls to new campuses, so a flange schedule can mix sizes and materials: carbon steel for the chilled water plant, stainless for CDUs and liquid-cooled racks, and a few flanges for each fit-out.

Climate and what it means for the piping

Climate at Pune: IMD 1991 to 2020 normals and station records
MeasureValue
Hottest month, average daily high37.9 °C (April)
Record high44.4 °C
Record low1.7 °C
Annual rainfall841 mm, 80% of it from June to September

Pune sits on the Deccan plateau at about 570 m, inland from Mumbai, and is drier and cooler. The average daily high peaks at 37.9 °C in April; the record high is 44.4 °C and the record low 1.7 °C, far above the -29 °C (-20 °F) to which ASME B16.5 rates A105 flanges. Of the 841 mm of annual rain, 80% falls from June to September, when average humidity approaches 80%.

The dry season suits evaporative cooling, and the monsoon brings condensation on anything cold. Chilled water flanges need insulation with a continuous vapor barrier, and outdoor carbon steel flanges at cooling towers and rooftop chillers should be painted with the pipe after installation.

Getting flanges to Pune

Pune and our works at Umbergaon are both in western India. Flanges go by road to the site, your contractor's yard or a fabrication shop in and around Pune.

Domestic orders are invoiced with GST and travel with an e-way bill. Your engineer or third-party inspector is welcome at the works before dispatch. Supplying data center projects in India covers standards, inspection and ordering.

Flanges for other Indian data center markets: Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam.

Frequently asked questions

Can our engineers inspect at the works?

Yes. Your engineer or a third-party agency is welcome at our works in Umbergaon, Gujarat, for stage or final inspection. Material has been inspected there by TÜV, Gulf Lloyds, IRClass, Bureau Veritas and SGS.

Do you make EN 1092-1 flanges for European-designed plant?

Yes. We make EN 1092-1 flanges alongside ASME B16.5, and PN16 is the usual rating for data center water systems. See EN 1092-1 flanges.

Can one order mix flanges with pipes and fittings?

Yes. Pipes, fittings and plates can be supplied with the flanges as one package, each line to its own specification and with its own certificates.
