Applications

Where flanges are used in data center cooling

A liquid-cooled data center moves heat from the chips to the atmosphere through a chain of water circuits. The flange specification changes along the way, from carbon steel waterworks flanges at the cooling towers to clean 316L at the rack manifolds.

A line list, a BOM or a marked-up drawing all work. For each line item, tell us:

  • Flange type, face and size (NPS or DN)
  • Standard and pressure class, for example ASME B16.5 Class 150 or EN 1092-1 PN16
  • Material grade and the loop it goes on, for example 316L on the TCS loop
  • Quantity, inspection requirements and destination
